A NOTE FROM
THE MUSIC DIRECTOR
Welcome to the Chorale’s 31st concert season! It is my 5th season as Music
Director, and TIME is on my mind. We therefore begin the season with a program
of Time Pieces, and continue with a French Christmas program that features
Charpentier’s Midnight Mass for Christmas. We celebrate the 25th Annual Messiah
Sing-Along in December, and I am especially excited about the
highlight of this year’s Bach Festival: a performance of Bach’s
timeless masterpiece, the St. John Passion. Our Pops Concert,
featuring music of the 30s and 40s, returns to close out the
season. It was so popular last year that we’re moving to a
bigger venue: the Scranton Cultural Center’s Shopland Hall.
I hope you will join us as we continue our tradition of
bringing great choral music to Northeast Pennsylvania!
Sincerely Yours,
Dr. Steven Thomas
