
Strongly committed to promoting music education and choral excellence, Gina Lupini Lehman is choral director and a general music instructor for Valley View Middle School. She is the conductor of Cantilena (ages 8-10) and the interim conductor for Chantueses (ages 14-18) and Camerata (male changed voices), three of six choirs in the Northeast Pennsylvania Choral Society’s Children and Youth Programs. She is an active member in the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), where she serves as Elementary Repertoire and Standards chair to the state board of ACDA-PA. She is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Music Educator’s Association (PMEA).
She formerly served as high school choral director and director of the musical theatre productions for Valley View School District from 1993-2001 and will return as musical director for the 2010 spring production. From 2001-2007 she served as music instructor for the Arts Alive Institute, a summer scholarship program for high school students.
Gina earned her Music Education degree with a concentration in voice from Wilkes University. A summa cum laude graduate of Mansfield University, Mrs. Lehman earned a Master’s degree in choral conducting, and was a recipient of a full scholarship serving as a graduate assistant for Dr. Peggy Dettwiler, Director of Choral Activities.
As a professional vocalist and an active community member, she is a member of the Robert Dale Chorale and a cantor for the Diocese of Scranton. She has been named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers numerous times throughout her teaching career and was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2001 by NEIU 19. Most recently, she was awarded January 2008 Teacher of the Month by WBRE-TV.
